Cowboys beat Buccaneers on final stand…
It wasn`t the most prettiest NFL football game you would ever like to see, but the Dallas Cowboys hung on to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-9 Sunday at Texas Stadium. Dallas, struggling to put points on the board in the absence of star Q.B. Tony Romo, were lead by backup Brad Johnson, who finished 19-33 for 122 yards and one go-ahead touchdown pass to new receiver Roy Williams.
Dallas stood up to Tampa Bay and Jeff Garcia on 4th and 5, as Garcia threw an incomplete pass to end Tampa Bay`s hopes for a win. Jeff Garcia finished the game 27-43 for 227 yards passing with no touchdowns and no interceptions.
Dallas played it`s best defensive game of the season, holding Tampa Bay to 9 points and did not allow a touchdown. With the win Dallas is now in third place in NFC EAST. If they can hold on until Tony Romo comes back they still have a chance to turn their season around. If they have defensive performances like they did Sunday, it will certainly help their chances for the rest of the season.
