What was Cowboys owner Jerry Jones saying after the Pittsburgh game?  From what I understand, he is questioning one of the toughest running backs in the NFL, Marion Barber. There seems to be some trouble brewing in Big D.  Jones was very critical of Marion Barber’s willingness to play 10 days after dislocating his little right toe on Thanksgiving Day.

Jones was quoted as saying Barber’s “toe was good enough to play,” and that was correct. Maybe he could have and maybe he coudn`t have played, only Marion knows. But while rehabbing and testing just how well he could run – and that would be only running forward ahead during the past week, Barber developed a severe calf injury,  likely because of changing how he usually runs to make up for the injured toe. Barber has a heart that no one can question!

So it was the calf injury that really sidelined Barber, who was having problems simply running during the walk-through practice out at Dallas on Saturday morning when they (the staff), decided it would be too risky for his long-term health to play him on Sunday against Pittsburgh. At that time, before leaving the Dallas, the club decided it would be better to leave Barber behind, giving him a better chance of being ready for this Sunday night against the New York Giants.

So how could Jerry Jones question Barber staying back in Dallas? He could have asked him to play or if he was well enough to play. Instead, he goes and blabs to the media about how he thought Barber could play. If Barber could have played, trust me, he would have! With a nickname like Barbarian, of course he would have suited up! I know it is his team, but stuff like this just divides the team.
