Dallas can`t put away Steelers in Fourth Quarter…
For three quarters Sunday at Pittsburgh`s Heinz Field, the Dallas Cowboys looked like the NFL`S #1 ranked defense. But a last quarter meltdown lead to a 20-13 Pittsburgh Steeler win. The Steelers came in the fourth quarter trailing 13-3, but scored 17 unanswered points from tough defense and help from Jason Witten running a wrong route. The first half was a defensive stalemate with the score 3-3 at the half.
Dallas quarterback Tony Romo hooked up with Terrell Owens on a 12 yard touchdown pass to make the score 10-3 with 9:36 to go in the third quarter. Nick Folk would add a field goal later with 3:22 left heading into the last quarter to make it 13-3 Cowboys. Pittsburgh would tie the score up with great passes from Ben Roethlisberger and field goals by kicker Jeff Reid, to make it 13 all. With 1:40 left in the game, Tony Romo would try to connect with Jason Witten, but Witten ran the route wrong.
This enabled Deshea Townsend to step in front off Witten and intercept Romo, for a 26-yard return for a touchdown. This put Pitts burgh up for good at 20-13. Roethlisberger finished the game 17-33 for 204 yards and 1 touchdown. Dallas`s Romo finished the game 19-36 for 210 yards with 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions. Rookie Tashard Choice who filled in for Marion Barber at back, finished the game with 23 rushes for 88 yards. Dallas is now 8-5 and running out of time. Pittsburgh now stands at 10-3 looking to clinch their division soon.
