Dallas fires defensive coordinator Stewart

The Dallas Cowboys axed defensive coordinator Brian Stewart after just two seasons with the team. Dallas was supposed to be playing in the Super Bowl this year, at least on paper, but fell short of that by a game of even making the playoffs. So Stewart is now gone and you know that the season finale against the Eagles didn`t help him much. Stewart coached the Chargers secondary for 3 years before going with coach Wade Phillips to Dallas. Stewart also spent 2 seasons as a defensive assistant with the Texans.
Dallas gave up 22.8 points per game, which was 20th in the league. Phillips took over the defensive play-calling at times this year, and that kind of put Stewart on the outside looking in so to speak. After letting go Special Teams Coach Bruce Read earlier, Stewart was bound to be fired. I`m sure this will not be the last Cowboy coach to leave before next season.

I think it was good to fire our d-coordinator. Our defense was good, but we lost some big games when it mattered most on defense.

Stewart was responsible for the defenses performance. So he should lose his job if they aren`t performing.
